The West Vancouver Police Department is embarking on a new strategic direction that will assist to shape a professional, accountable, and effective police service.

Strategic planning will be a starting point for every decision that is made within the Department.

Three Main Thrusts of the Strategic Plan

• Introduce a high standard of measurement, analysis, and accountability into all activities of the Department.
• Increase the frequency and quality of communications emanating from and exchanged within the Department.
• Employ strict and transparent fiscal, asset, and human resource management

Goals Established By the Strategic Plan

• Build and maintain a police service that is effective and sustainable over time.
• Maintain high levels of service.
• Create a best-in-class workplace.
• Build on the trust and working relationships that the community has with its police department.
