Crown Counsel has now approved several charges in connection with a violent arrest of suspects in two stolen vehicles.

The male and female suspect made a first appearance at North Vancouver Provincial Court this afternoon.

Crown Counsel has approved charges in this occurrence as follows

34 year old James CHAMBERLAIN of Surrey has been charged with Possession of Stolen Property, Dangerous Driving, Hit and Run, Drive While Prohibited and Wilfully Resist Arrest.   CHAMBERLAIN has been remanded in custody pending his next court appearance May 04, 2010.

The 17 year old female accused in this occurrence can not be publicly identified as per provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.  Crown Counsel has sworn charges of Possession of Stolen Property and Dangerous Driving against the unidentified female, who will remain in custody pending a next court appearance April 26, 2010.  At the time of arrest, the youth suspect was also subject of eight outstanding arrest warrants for unrelated offences.
