| Counterfeit $20 Bills - Suspects Arrested - Update |
Alert merchants, Park Royal Security, and a quick response by West Vancouver Police added up to suspects heading to court on charges of possessing and uttering counterfeit currency.
Shortly after 1pm Sunday, West Vancouver Police responded to a report of males attempting to pass counterfeit $20 Canadian bills at a coffee shop in the 700 block of Marine Dr.
With assistance of Park Royal Security two suspects were located in the area and arrested. A quantity of counterfeit $20 bills was recovered.
Further investigation revealed additional attempts earlier in the day to pass counterfeit bills to other merchants in the area.
Suspects were held at West Vancouver Police Headquarters overnight for a first court appearance Monday morning in North Vancouver. 40 year old Allan Joseph BRADA of Vancouver has been charged with Possession of Counterfeit Currency. Crown Counsel has also sworn two charges of Uttering Counterfeit Currency against 52 year old Rickey TEARE of Vancouver.
