| Dundarave Jewellery Store Robbery Update - Sentencing |
Sentence has been passed on one man convicted connection with a Dundarave area jewellery store robbery and shooting in January.
25 year old Jeremy WINGER of Princeton, BC appeared at North Vancouver Provincial Court Wednesday morning for sentencing.
WINGER had pled guilty at an earlier court appearance to separate charges of Robbery with a Restricted or Prohibited Weapon and Intentional Reckless Discharge of a Restricted or Prohibited Weapon.
WINGER was sentenced to 6 years in jail with 10 months credit for five months served in custody awaiting trial. WINGER is also subject of a lifetime ban on possession of firearms.
West Vancouver Police were called to a report of shots fired after the robbery of a jewellery store in the 24 hundred block of Marine Dr. January 19, 2010. There were no injuries.
WINGER was among four Lower Mainland men ranging in age from 19 to 26 arrested in the Cedardale area of West Vancouver after being tracked by officers from the Dundarave area.
19 year old Joshua Bennet CHAIF-GUST of New Westminster, BC and 26 year old Ryan William David BLORE of Port Moody, BC are scheduled for trial on several charges in the fall.
Crown Counsel determined there was insufficient evidence for charges against the fourth male arrested.
