West Vancouver Police, West Vancouver Fire and Rescue and the BC Coroner’s Service are investigating a fatal house fire overnight.

 
Shortly after 200am this morning emergency crews were called to a fire at a home in the 62 hundred block of Overstone Drive in West Vancouver.
 

One of two elderly residents was quickly pulled from the home and provided with emergency medical treatment.
 

Sadly the 81 year old woman succumbed to her injuries from the fire and was pronounced dead at the scene.
 

An 81 year old man was found deceased in the home soon after.
 

Family members have attended the scene however in respect of the wishes of the immediate family identities of the victims are not being released.

Police and fire investigators remain at scene.  The specific cause of the fire remains under investigation.
